These large sculpture come from the Bongo people of southern Sudan , large sculpted funerary or memorial were placed above tombs , among the bongo large scuptures reconized and honore male elites , warrios , chiefs or locally significants personnages , carved head were at the best idealised representation of the dead of a specific person
